The typical DN_player experience: Get infinite load, open task manager and end process, reload. Enter game with no choice of ship with modules you can't change. Try to chat with your allies, but every time you try to type, the entire textbox highlights and erases your message, so you just reply with "bak." Your friend sends you a personal message, asking if you want to squad, too bad for him since you can't reply. The match ends with the score 100-20 because match making balanced the teams so well. You then go back to hangar, get kicked from your squad so it has to reform... repeat

How many first-time players will uninstall if this is their first experience? More than would leave due to a bomb catapult blast....

I hear very little/no complaining from people who are active in this game about the balancing. I have over 2,000 battles played in about 2 months time. I understand fixing game code can be more time consuming than changing the range on a module... but there needs to be a sense of prioritization with these "fixes." If they can't be solved at this time, at least ackowledge them. The problems I opened with, should've been the first notes on the patchnote... not tac cruiser changes. Most people could careless, espeically people who can't play/load in.

H1z1 had an amazing start in open access (basically open beta). The game was long dead before its official release. They focused on things the community didn't want (skins, a new map, more weapons) and a year later finally got around to fixing stability and UI problems (runs awesome now), but it had already died... now they're sell it for 75% off and lost all their streamer support. Even two time winner Ninja, who made tens of thousands playing this game at Twitchcon doesn't touch the thing anymore.

Stability and UI should have more focus than module balance. Game balance feels fun as is. IMO this patch. risks breaking the only part of the game that keeps players coming back. The communities that form outside the in-game resources are probably the #1 retainer of high spending players. Plenty of people dump cash in early game to quickly progess, but in the late-game I believe more the spending decision is made by the involvement of the player in a clan/friends and less about progression. Why the chat system so bad?

Where does feedback come from on modules?

Possible idea for future patches: If the player uses the energy wheel, take their module input with a grain of salt.

It becomes increasing difficult to support and be excited about a game that crashes on the reg. Thank you for the continued support for this game and I hope the best for it.

Crashes come and go with every patch we release, that being said, if you're experiencing frequent crashes I'd recommend reaching out to our support team here. While crashes have appeared periodically, they should never be constant or frequent. As a live service, issues are going to come and go, but our teams will always be actively working to ensure these matters are taken care of as fast as possible. We appreciate the input.

i think the modules got way too expensive ... i mean now i need up to 55k Ship XP for a module and then buy it for 20-25k Credits ... also i need even longer to progess to the next tier as it is required to buy modules aswell ... i'm disappointed, this sadly looks more like a downgrade to me...

I have a list of problems, but foremost I'm getting invisible missiles, invisible enemy projectiles, etc. I don't know I'm being shot at more than half the time because of this and I get creamed. This was never a problem before.

Fixed it: Decreased draw distance or whatever in settings.

My game runs really smoothly, ive got no complains.

BUT,

the cost of a module in comparison to the earning rate seems like you guys want me to buy those coins.

coins for comsmetics no problem make your money.

but if you consider that i join at closed beta, bought my way in with the founders pack, got to a decent rank, expirenced the nice big tier ships and had to start over again with this bad "leveling" system: i am fed up.

it was and still could be a great game, but rethink your strategy. this game need players. not more expensive modules.

consider a game mode in space with 32 people or more. thats the dreadnought i want to experince....

Ok, i have 2 complaints, one may just be a result of different computer components and how they work, the other however, is about the feeling, that you ignore some feedback given to you in forum, even if that feedback is well mannered and constructive.

First the technical problem, its about your new hangar light. You mentioned, some players complained, the hangar is to dark and because of that, you intensivied the light. Ummm... from my point of view, that was a very bad idea, it hvae messed up my light in hangar up to a point, where its almost unbearable to watch Its way to bright now. Here is a video, some of my ships in hangar and then with the same colors ingame, for comparsion. Whatever you did to the light, please make it OPTIONAL. Seriously, is it that hard to think about the possibility, that JUST SOME people wanted a brighter light, and others are totally fine with it ,how it was?

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PU8mGq5IgAE

Please ignore that it looks so low res, for some reason, the video compression made it that way, but its about the colors, not about resolution, and the colors are still visible ^.^

My other complaint is about some feedback, you received about one of the modules, and you just ignored it. Its about Goliath Torpedos, and the overall opinion about your changes and your new timer for it (5 seconds), was, that those 5 seconds are way to long. You really got some very helpful feedback about that particular timer, why its bad, why its to long (3 seconds should it be at maximum), and that it isn´t necessary. But even if you force us to live with that timer, its way to long with 5 seconds. Why did you ignore this feedback? There wasn´t even a big controversy about it, most had similar opinions about the Goliath timer. And as mentioned earlier, it would be way more helpful, if you change goliaths launch mechanic from a sideward launch to an upward launch, because that is, what causes the most accidents.

So why do you ask about feedback, and then, if you got some really good feedback, how to make things better, why do you ignore it? You had plenty of time to reduce the timer, can´t be that hard to change a variable from 5 to 2 or 3.

I dont mind the exp research cost increase on the modules on its own. But to tell us we have more options in where to go with the upgrades to the next tier, thats bull. 12 modules in tier 3 makes us unlock all but 1 module to get to tier 3, wich is way more then before the update. I allready thought it was grindy before (even with elite status) but now it just got rediculous. My friends where allready fed up with grinding since they can't play that much and they thought it took way too long to unlock new modules and ships, but now they just gave up and started playing other games again because they could not be arsed to spend this much time to get to my current level. Not being able to play with friends hurts my gaming experience and is making me think of quitting aswel, even though i think the gameplay is great, it just takes too long to get different ships to deverisfy my playstyle. so please, reduce the amount of mods required to advance to the next tier and make it so you said you would make it by giving us actual choises to make in what modules we want and not want. otherwise, just turn it back to the way it was.

Greetings,

Banzaibob

I have never experienced DN without the infinite load problem. The current frequency of this is about once every 2 hours of gameplay. So in a 4 hour session it is most likely that I will experience 2 infinite loads, plus some, minus some. I believe this to be the normal and expected experience for this service, correct me if I'm wrong.

I saw that the memory leak issue seems to be dealt with, thank you for this, I could feel the input lag creep up over time... quite substantial since it was perceiviable fairly quickly. Even people with 32GB (I have 16) were saying they could feel it (as well as confirm it through task manager).

It would be so nice to interact with other players outside of shooting my weapons at them. Several modules and classes are built around the idea of working together with your allies. This gameplay element is not encouraged or even possible (without use of 3rd party apps, which are free services) since the text chat is not functional.

"/me has invited you to their squad." I'm so glad me invited myself to my squad.

When will chat become a feature within DN, and will it be a free service, if not, how much GP will this service cost?
