COMPETITION: KING OF THE HILL
Monday, January 15th, 2018
Howdy folks, Arctic_fox with Zero Hour here!
I wanted to let you pilots know about our next King of the Hill competition, on January 15th, 2018. This will be the second event in our monthly competition series.
We here at Zero Hour want to keep things fresh for our fellow Dreadnought pilots, and plan to give away some decent prizes during our monthly competitions. Prizes will vary, ranging from beta packs to gift cards, and as we continue into the new year we will be bringing out more. We are hoping to see a feature installed soon, that would allow us to gift premium ships and other in game content to our contestants.
I. COMPETITION OUTLINE
King of the Hill - Individual player scores are tallied across 5 games per player. The top 3 overall players with the highest scores win a prize.
The contest mode will be Onslaught, and pilots are restricted to using Tier 2 Destroyers. No premium ships are allowed.
- 24 Players
- 4 Squad leaders
12 Alternate Participants
- 8 Alt Players
- 4 Alt Squad Leaders
Squad Leaders Squad leaders are chosen from within Zero Hour, and will lead players through their respective rounds.
Players Players are participants, who will be slotted into 8 separate squads. Each squad will be comprised of 1 Squad Leader, and 3 players.
- 1 Squad Leader
- 3 Players
Each team will play 5 matches, consisting of one round. Rounds will be played according their scheduled time slots.
- Round 1: 12:00 - 13:30 PDT
- Round 2: 13:30 - 15:00 PDT
- Round 3: 15:00 - 16:30 PDT
- Round 4: 16:30 - 18:00 PDT
- Round 5: 18:00 - 19:30 PDT
- Round 6: 19:30 - 21:00 PDT
1st Place - King of the Hill:
$10.00 USD Amazon Gift Card
2nd & 3rd Place - Runners Up:
$5.00 USD Amazon Gift Card
Each team will play a round, totaling 5 matches. At the end of each round individual player’s lowest score will be dropped, and the remaining overall scores will be tallied. After all rounds have been completed, the players with the three highest scores win a prize.
Squad Leaders are not counted, as they are ineligible for contest winnings.
At the end of each match, the team’s designated Squad Leader will take a screenshot of the battle report, and submit it to the judges. The player’s overall scores, not the number of ship kills, at the end of each match will be used to tally the final results.
Tie scores will be broken by an additional match/s between the players involved.
Dropped connections when loading a game will result in a do-over, and the result of said match will be discarded. The player must inform their Squad Leader within 60 seconds of match start time. This failsafe can only be used once per player in order to avoid abuse.
Winners will be announced by rank (1st to 24th) on the forums with web link to ALL screenshots within 24 hours, and prizes will be given out within 24 hours of that.
Squad leaders and Zero Hour admin will not be eligible for these prizes.
