The Status Of Team Elimination

Hey everyone! We know that a lot of you have had questions regarding Team Elimination’s current and future status, so we wanted to share some details with all of you.

To be blunt, Team Elimination never really took off. There were certainly a few fans (myself included), but it was clear that the majority of the community did not share the same mindset. After we put it in the “Any” game mode rotation, we noticed a lot of players would quit as soon as they were able. Which was an outcome we definitely didn’t want as it impacted the experience of other players. This lead to us removing it from the “Any” game mode rotation to see how well it would do on its own, and truth is, it didn’t. It got to a point where players that purposely queued for Team Elimination would almost never find a match, even if they joined as a squad.

After everything we had seen it was clear that Team Elimination is a game mode that is unfinished and requires quite a bit of work across the board. Which is why we’ve decided to completely remove it and give our teams more time to focus on higher priority issues. At the moment we do not have an ETA on when it will come back, or if it will have the same mechanics when it does. We are aware that there are contracts and other in-game content that still revolve around it, and we’ll be cleaning that up as soon as we can.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding in this, and we hope that this helps shed some light in the situation. If you have any feedback, please feel free to comment in this thread! Thank you!

Off topic, but will we see patch 1.11 or something for PC soon or will there just be a maintenence period for removing TE contracts?

Does this mean removal of the trophy on PS4 as well? I am trying to Platinum the game & this is one that I can't seem to get although I have already met the requirements before the trophy system was in place (as well as others that have not popped yet..for example the 150 assists trophy but my stats show over 1,600 total assists)

make team elmination 20v20 some massive captial ship warfare, chaos and anarchy that forces captaina to nake quick decisions that could mean life or death playstation needs soemthing like that if you want it to take off on console. 5 v 5 is boring and underwhelming. or scrap it all together and bring sector control/domination/conquest 20 v 20.

truth be told i wish you guys made this game with some big imagination and grandious ideas, then charged 89cad and paid DLC. i wouldve paid for that to get all this and a bug free product more or less. at this point id pay for faster UI.

1.11 is expected to arrive in the not TOO distant future. We'll talk more about when to expect it when we have those details locked in. We're still going through the motions now.

I don't think there is something to be improved. Team Elimination is basically a worse version of Team Death Match: when you die, you have to use a weaker ship than the ones you invested time and/or money in. So there was no reason to play in this mode rather than TDM unless for contract/quest . I would suggest to forget this mode and try new ones. Here are a few ideas:

-Control points mode. A set number of points spread across the maps that you can capture to get points. Let's say they'd have a 2000m diameter, and to capture one you'd just need to have more ships than the enemy team in the sphere for a set period of time (like 10s). They would be visible from anywhere on the map like command ships in onslaught. I believe it would be even more dynamic than onslaught.

-Headhunter mode. After let's say 2 minutes a random player in each team becomes empowered and get increased stats (they could glow red like mines, but not too much so stealth corvette would still be playable). Taking down an empowered ship gives an extra amount of points. The empowered ship could change every 2 minutes to avoid healballs forming around it (or it could just get reduced healing from other ships). Again, I think it would be quite dynamic.

Maybe I'll add more ideas if I find good ones. There's also the Havoc mode that we don't have on PC, hope to see it someday. Good luck, this game has potential and I believe you can do somethig great with it.

TL;DR: delete tac cruisers.

I disagree with Vasiliy - to me TE was much more challanging and forcing a way different tactics then DM. If you know you'll respawn in a few seconds, getting killed is not a problem as long as you can take few enemies with you. In TE you had to be extra cautious, stick to the team and play more defensively.

I really miss this mode, because it had a very distinct 'feel' to it. In a way it also made Dreadnought a little more realistic, and played very well with the scale of the game - after all what's the point in flying huge capital ships, if you have an unlimited supply of them?

What was lacking was the experience in the small jets - I never felt I could make any difference. Perhaps there could be some synergy possibile that could make them worthwhile? Like working together as network of healers / missle defenders that gets much more effective with every next one joining? Or maybe flying not as one puny fighter / bomber but as a squad leader with some AI wingmen?
