Friend suggested this game, but 1 look at your ships and I was gone.

So my friend recommended this game to me, and so I had a look see, and to my dissappointment, as with so many "space" games.... the ship design is horrible..... I don't mean they look horrible, but from every thing we have about theoretical space warfare, the designs for the most part, are suboptimal, horrible firing archs due to shape and size of the ships which also more often than not leads to unnessecarily large silhouette which just makes for target practice.

It's hard to get into a space game with the emphasis on combat where the average ship seems to be designed to look cool and not be military efficient. (and even the few ships I have seen with proper shape and size, then have their turrets placed at again, suboptimal places limiting firing archs....)

So I hope by taking the time to make this account and give you this feedback you might start thinking properly about ship design for the future. Because immersion is a thing for some of us, and this breaks it outright.

A brick, turned side ways or not, is absolutely not a valid military space design......

Well at least it's not as bad as some games where space ships have "wings" because we all know you need that areodynamic lift in space especially with fancy technology like "anti-gravity" drives and stuff like that >.> ......

Entirely your choice, of course, but it seems a very odd and slightly petty reason to not even give the game a chance.

Pretty reason ? ..... "I cannot immerse into your game because of poor research and design" is a petty reason ?......

When you have fundamentally put 0 effort into thinking your actual game threw, it's a petty reason to decide than to also give 0 effort into trying it ?

I think you have given your post as little thought as the designer of the ship gave thoughts about the military viability of the ship he was designing.....

Yes, petty. A "viable" military spaceship design (whatever that means, since no such thing exists I can only assume you work for NASA's space weaponry dept to have some scientific insight into the area) would be interminably dull. Do you think, perhaps, that the designers might have favoured visual flair over realism? And since when is a capital ship space combat game featuring plasma, lasers, warp and forcefields meant to be realistic? Bizarre.

This isn't a space sim, it's an arcade shooter. That dosn't suit you that's fine but let's not try and get all Iamverysmart about it.

Somehow a capital spaceship captain by the name ~ShogunSmurf~ breaks my immersion... but that's just me.

If the looks of the ships annoy you, you would not have liked the game at all. It is lightyears away from any realistic logical approach, it follows the fun/balance > realism line. So nothing in this game is made around theoretical possible space warfare. It is esentially Star Wars.

Whoa there. It's much more plausible than Star Wars
