Fix the match Making or you will not retain new palyers.

Enjoyed the game a lot in rookie fleet. Lots of good tightly fought battles were score was always very close.

Once in the veteran fleet. No fun at all. Just losses with my team but it is not for the losses but for the measure socre of the defeat. 100 to 20 or worse nearly always. I get the impression that the veteran palyers of the game are always grouped together before a fight.

Even the winners excuse themselves for the trash they gave the other team after the battle. Today I played 20 matches and won only one. 19 lost with a wide margin score 100 to 20.

Getting the feeling the the match make is♥♥♥♥♥♥or that there are a number of veteran long time player and very few new palyers.

Fix the match making if you want the new player to stay.

Rest is a good game apart for high cost custimization items and some ships costing even more than a triple A game if you do the maths.

We got your post on the Steam discussion forums, but just to reiterate:

Thanks for your feedback! It does sound frustrating to have a string of defeats, I understand what you mean. We are confident the move to Steam will significantly improve some of the matchmaking frustrations in the Beta currently. With a larger pool of players of similar skill the matchmaker will more accurately be able to match them together.

We will be making meaningful balance adjustments in the coming updates prior to launch that will help with the wide score margins as well, as some of the more exploitable ship builds are being returned.

To be fair, you can get a string of defeats like that in any PvP game. In another game I play I once had a string of 57 straight losses.

Did it suck? Yes, yes it did. The truth of the matter is just because you pla in a match dose not mean you are entitled to a win after so many losses. The Veteran games are very different to Recruit matches. More ship types to get to know, more modules ect. I'm not saying it not frustraiting, But you can't go into a new division playing with people who have been playing for years, and beat them. Maybe once we have the steam launch and we have a bigger player base the MM will work as intended.

That would just be glossing over the problem that the current match-maker does not balance the players it does match together across both teams, however.

Going to Steam with this very bad Seal Clubbing a fresh T3 gets may not be a good idea, considering most players will see this issue after about a week of playing.

This is a bigger issue than the UI, which seems to be the all focused thing at the moment......personally, I feel the UI is fine as it is for a Steam Launch... so, we get say 100k people flooding in, play for a week, then hit the solid wall of fresh T3, and... .gone..... what have we achieved at that point?

I and a few friends came back to try the game again, and absolutely loved it .... until T3......farmed, seal clubbed, no fun at all......now we're on the brink of uninstalling it again...

It's much more than just the UI, it's optimization, improved back end functionality, and more. The next big game update will not only allow Dreadnought to run better, but allow us to make adjustments easier, add new content, so on, and so forth. The UI is the biggest and prettiest aspect of it, along with coming to Steam, but there's even more there. Well, and once we've accomplished that huge task, we have plans to focus on other large topics like balance, matchmaking, and more.

We're not launching Dreadnought into Steam and then leaving. Not at all. There's a lot more to be done.

IIf 100.000 players would join and all get to veteran fleet in like a week there would be almost only new players in the queue , they would outnumber the "old" players by a big margin. It has been said dozen of times but again, the matchmaker works better the larger the playerbase is...

I dont think that the new players would even fight the old players that often, because there would be plenty of matches filled with newer players in their stock T3 ships. If matchmaking still wouldnt be working after this, the devs would have time to change it after steamlaunch.

Except the old players will always be on the same team, cause squads and the games will be even more disbalanced, since if you inject 100k of completely new players (really optimistic number imo), with the current matchmaking it will practically guarantee that the 3x squad will be matched vs 8 fresh newcomers on stock T3 buckets.

Let's be more realistic and assume 10.000 new players get into battle in their tier 3 ships. To manage this amount of players the matchmaker would have to open 625 lobbys (for PC players) where every player probably has a 50% chance of getting on either the one or the other team. Chances of getting on the opposing side of a "deathsquad " would be still quite low. In this case they will get stomped, but this happens in every competitive online game. Getting stomped once is not bad you can even learn from that. Most players get mad or quit, if they lose continiously but since there would be more people in the queue it's unlikely meeting the same squad over and over again. ( like it is now )
