New game modes

Convoy / Escort. It'd be great to see a pvp mode where the defensive team's only objective is get from point A to B; Then maybe back again with some objectives in between. The defensive team gets only 1 (maybe 2 lives each), and must have a set number of dreadnoughts like 4. The offensive team gets unlimited lives and tries to stop the defensive. Each team could get a turn on the defensive if the matches turn out to be very quick.

Assault. I want an all out pvp mode where the offensive team attacks multiple strategic locations on a map until they destroy the final objective. Offensive has limited number of resources (lives based on ship class), or plays until time runs out; why not both as an option. Defensive gets unlimited resources to stop the offensive team.

Team elimination modes are some of my favorite gameplay styles. It'd be great to have it for the PC version. Include some options that allow custom rules. I'd like to switch between 1 life only and 3 lives but all your ships were previously selected prior to the match starting.

Any of this possible? Please say yes

We had team Elimination, it was quite unpopuler, so it was removed from the Any queue on PC, then later removied altogether.

Team Elimination was my favourite mode, but it lost its purpose when they changed the game from a competitive game to a grinder. Getting eliminated doesn't help you grind, so nobody played it.

It wasnt even that that really killed it. New players who got TE as there first game after doing the tutorial usualy quit the game and never came back. I for the life of me can't remember who said it, but I'm sure it was in a thread asking about TE and why it was removied.

They said that in a stream. But that could have been solved by not making TE available in the recruit queue. Problem was nobody played it in veteran and legendary, either. It wasn't grind effective and very teamwork centric. Basically the opposite of Onslaught, where you can just do your own thing by shooting some helpless AI ships... (Onslaught is terrible).

No point talking about the past.

Still want TE, but I guess I'm a rare type.

I think recent battle royal modes give us a good example to play by. players don't have to stick around and wait for the next round. they jump into another match.

Giving players multiple lives in a single round could provide that extra incentive to play on.

AT LEAST OFFER IT TO THE HIGHER TIER PLAYERS!!!

Yes, I hate Onslaught. But only because of the way random teams play it.

But the past informs you about what will and will not happen. Your suggestion will not.

How about this:

Armada/Scamble: 1 team of 8(?) players needs to protect a flagship or location (maybe Sinley Bay?) from a horde of AI ships warping in in fleet formation (outnumbering the players). When enough enemy ships are destroyed, they are replaced by new reinforcements in groups warping in at random locations. When players are destroyed, they respawn near the flagship/location like normal. Once enough ships are destroyed, the enemy flagship accompanied by an elite guard will warp in. Destroying this ship will end in victory for the players. If the player's flagship or location is destroyed, it's game over.

The effect I'm aiming for is something like the final space battle of Mass Effect 3 where two large fleets, each guarding a target of strategic value, duke it out in spectacular fashion in one main battle line. I don't know if this is possible since I don't know how many ships can be in a game at any one time but it seems like it could be pretty fun if done right.

PC will have a mode kind of like this at steam launch, but it's more of a wave survival game mode called Havoc. It's on the PS4 so could probably find some game play of it. They have shown in game of an escort game mode in a long range scan video about a year ago.
