Hello everyone,

Havoc Mode - This may have been brought up in the past but I really think there should be a way to use your own ships in this mode. This feels like a missed opportunity.

I do not like to play this mode because I do not like the provided ship configurations.

I do like how difficult the AI ships get and I would love to go at them with my own ships.

I think Dreadnought boils down to how these ships "feel" and nothing is going to feel better than using your ship that you have set the Color, Design, Modules, and OB's for.

If it is a programming/ stability issue then maybe this mode should have it's own hanger? ( Perhaps Tier III ships only in this mode to keep things simple? )

( Sorry if this topic is better for the Concepts page )

(Edit - I don't know if it's important to mention that I am a PS4 player )

I play on the PS4 meow

Havoc is coming to PC soon so its probably about time people started talking about it- that being said, I have not played it before.

From what I can tell, the ships are pre-selected for a few reasons:

Firstly, to force you to test new playstyles. If you are always given the option of a ship to fly, you will never leave your comphort zone, and forcing players to fly exotic and new ship loadouts is a fun way of allowing players to test waters that they never even would have thought to test themselves

The second reason is just for balancing- where PVP requires a magnitude of skillsets to counter a variety of players, the level-based structure of havoc means that it has to be designed in such a way that you can not exploit any tactics or "beat" the level in a way that is not meant to be beaten. For example, heavy artillery might be too good against a slow-moving dreadnought boss battle that does not have the ability to close the gap easilly. By contrast, a destroyer our dreadnought with the correct loadouts might be too powerful against a certain wave of enemies under the specific cercumstances that the game forces you through

All that being said, I think the main thing to just point out is that there are plenty of gamemodes where you can choose your own ship, and havoc is just designed differently

Also the concept page is being removed, so this is just the right place I think to post this sort of thing

From my understanding, preset ships were used to make the gameplay more strategic, and even a bit tougher. Giving players free reigns to custom ship loadouts could make the entire experience quite a bit easier. Though I do like the idea of having open freedom to play however you'd like in that particular mode. I'll pass this feedback along! Appreciate it and thanks for all the support!
