I just read that the sequel to Rebel Galaxy will be coming out early next year. Normally, a game coming out is nothing of note, but, I have been noticing a trend that is surfacing. Space combat/sim games are becoming more popular and prevalent. Has anyone else noticed this? If so, does it excite you as it does me?

I love science fiction. The present with its destructive reckless humans is just no good. So I am keeping myself sedated with fiction, and imagining the future.

It does definitively excite the heck out of me!

Honestly, I've felt that way over the last couple of years. But it's good to see it's not slowing down!

Yeah, it seems to have gone from one every few years to a slew of them.

Though I have to confess, the last ship game I played before Dreadnought was Wing Commander 2 on the SNES. Lol.

I'm excited as well. It's a resurrection of my favourite sub-genre of the sci-fi - ever!

Also I've played original Rebel Galaxy, but atm I'm pausing. Deep Horizon Heavy Hauler, mostly T3-T4 hardware. Aiming at McKinley Cruiser with T5 + T6 defense and warp modules.

This just brightened my day! There's a lot of Sci-Fi games and such, but I liked very few of them because they mostly focussed on fighters and small ships. Imagine my delight when I found out about RG and DN

Without any doubt I do agree with Dragonychus. Also, I have Rebel Galaxy, need to play it again.

Yeah, its nice to see the genre coming back. You can never have too many spaceships flying around destroying eachother.
