1.) Any number of times I've faced the exact same ship as mine, each having the exact same loadout, yet been taken out in just a few shots. My own hits are dead on, so why does the opponent's ship destroy me in far fewer hits?

2.) Artys - How is it that an arty opponent using the same arty that I'm using, is able to hit me dead on from maximum range (with full power) while I can just barely target him/her? At first I thought it was my aiming skills really needing work and more experience, but I noticed that I can hit some targets perfectly at the same maximum range, not just the ideal range.

Anyone know the why/how of either issue?

Or the cheap excuse - server side issues, he has a better ping than you

Energy management? Is the other guy using his shields at the right time to negate your damage? Are you using yours up with power to engines before getting into the fight?

you should also pay attention if they are getting buffed by team mates mainly weaponboaster pulse or damage dealer loadouts with Officer briefings giving buffs.
