Having a few days to sit on this and playing last night, this idea just hasn't sounded any better. It's being done because newer players in T3's are getting beat, but the problem is merely shifting from T3 to T4. Players flying a Jutland or Vindicta for the first time, with little to no experience with the ships and stuck with the loadout because there's no previous tier, going against boosted T5s are going to be in the same position they're looking to prevent with T3s.

And no, Proving Grounds isn't an answer. Playing with an against bots (and those with you are utterly useless), you don't get much more than a basic feel for the ship. Paying with and against players is totally different.

No, but that doesn't change the fact that by pushing the top two tiers into one fleet, you've got only five slots for up to thirty ships, and that's not counting hero ships. And it's the two tiers that take by far the longest to progress.

That's end game for you. They kind of need it to take awhile. Sure people play for fun, but that will only keep people coming back for so long.

Getting to max level is the end gane for everyone in this game, and everyone plays for fun. Yeah, they need it to take a while because its FtP and they need to makw money. Whats your point?

Sounded Like you where complaining about how long it's going to take to get all T4's to T5 not they only have one division to play it.

ok under the new systtem yes, that is my complaint.

Wow do I think this is a bad idea.

It would be better to Nerf Tier III and add them to Recruit ( but also allow them to play in Veteran )

Add a restriction and remove a mode from the "heart" of the game? Is this company's motto: "Aim to Fail" ?

This is going to ruin the feel and flow of the game.

Tier IV can compete with Tier V but Legendary is far different than Veteran. Players that go back and forth can have completely different play styles in each mode. The idea removes flexibility ie: A very good Corvette pilot in Tier IV may be a better Destroyer or Dreadnought pilot ( Or only play those ship types ) in Tier V

And lets not forget about Battle Bonus - which is a joke - this tier shift idea makes it much worse.

I don't see how this isn't just another bandaid when the problem is clearly the grind towards officer briefings. - Meaning a Tier III ship can compete with appropriate OB's ( I got 10 tier III ships completely researched for that career bonus - one of those was the Dola )

As mentioned where this news was revealed, this is but a first step. There are more adjustments and improvements to come. We'll be talking more about the details when we have them locked in.

I already gave my overall point of view (see my post from 19th of November) so I won't repeat myself here. What I want to elaborate on instead is the issue with the officer briefings or just OBs.

They have indeed a significant influence on the performance of your ships. Facing off against fully equiped T5s in a stock T4 without OBs is a recipe for frustration. So getting these OBs can quickly become a chore.

Today I want to propose a solution to this predicament.

• Firstly remove the ability to equip OBs in T3 so OBs can only be equiped in Legendary Fleet. Otherwise T3 will pubstomp T2 which would be the exact opposite of what the tier change is all about.
• Secondly move the process of unlocking all OBs to T3 but make unlocking the respective T4 ship a requirement to unlocking the OB which could look something like this:

The numbers are of course just an example and as such subject to change.

This way the devs would hit two birds with one stone. T3 ships will not be overpowered compared to T2 ships and T4 ships will have a fighting chance against T5s right from the get-go. Putting OBs at the end of the T3 tech tree would incentivize players to max out their T3s to get the desired OBs which will prolong their time in Veteran Fleet giving them more time to learn the ropes and therefore preparing them for Legendary Fleet even further. If they are not interested in the OB they can always choose to hop into Legendary Fleet after unlocking the T4 ship without spending the time to unlock the respective OB.

I'm well aware that there a more OBs than T3 or even T4 ships. But that's not much of a problem. Look at the T3 JA destroyer "Otranto". By playing the "Otranto" you will unlock the "Jumpland" and the "Vigo". Just put the OBs (Retaliator / Nerves Of Steel) in the "Otranto"-tech tree but make them a follow-up to their respective ships.

This is an example of how the "Otranto"-tech tree could work:

• Jumpland: 8 modules, Retaliator: 8+x modules
• Vigo: 10 modules, Nerves Of Steel: 10+x modules
