Instead of jumping stuff on us via livestreams, I'm humbly asking that y'all write posts in the "In Development" or "In Concept" section of the forums. They exist for that exact purpose, and were established in response to negative backlash following the paid Officer Briefings snafoo. Sound familiar?
We are the Closed Beta. Stop thinking of us as your target market, or your customers. While we are willing to shell out some money to support the game in development, the primary reason we are here is so that we might make the game better by giving you player feedback on its development. Yes, many of us are future potential whales; but if you want to keep us around, you have to keep us involved. We provide the point of view that you guys don't have. We play the game every day, we see all of it's flaws and weaknesses from the standpoint of people who are here just to enjoy the childlike fun of blowing up spaceships with other spaceships.
Please, communicate with us. Tell us what you are thinking, so we can tell you what we think about it, and what we think will happen to the game based on other games we've played. Yes, adding a tier system may result in Dreadnought following the track of more successful games like War Thunder and World of Tanks. However, it also may result in a game like Robocraft or Star Conflict. There's a lot of risk involved, both to us (we want to play a fun game, not grind endlessly) and to you (it's a gamble as to whether or not the game will be successful or even profitable in the long run).
Most of us are adults. There are the vocal few that shout and rant and create flame posts. But, for the most part, people on this forum are here to offer their diverse, for the most part valid opinions and input on what this game will be in the future.
Use us. We are an investment. It costs money to run the servers like this, for such a small group of people, many of whom aren't paying subscriptions or buying CP. Don't just leave us in the dark for weeks on end, then jump something on us, and be surprised when the feedback is overwhelmingly negative. Establish a dialogue, talk to us about your vision, and we will help you realize it.
It is better to communicate too much than not enough. Right now, there's almost no communication, only announcements and lashback from the players. Please nip that problem in the bud, instead of letting it fester.
