@Normandy03 - Yes the Command ship gives a large boost to the team score.

If you land the killing the blow, you get 500 score, if your team mate gets the kill even if you did 99% of the damage, you only get 150 score for an assist and the same for other team mates that hit it. In that way the score is 500, +150 per assisting ally that shot the Commandship before it was destroyed. To maximise points, the whole team should be shooting it before its blown up.

In that way, Vettes that run off slightly ahead of the team to grab the 500 score for themselves actually hinder the whole team.

pretty sure this is wrong.

a command ship kill is 500 score for the team no matter what. just as every player death is 100 score for the opposing team.
individual player score doesn't get added up to team score.

Quite possibly right @R4Ging about the Conquest score, but I think I was confusing myself over player scores, in which case what I said was right (but not the right answer to the specific question).

It's 500 for the team score AND 500 personal score for the final hit, all other contributing damage is awarded 150 to that player's personal score if it's enough.

Ok dreadpony, how does one get to to those modules? The failings mentioned above on the Dola make it tough to get anywhere.

And play Onslaught only, killing npc ships give you extra exp.

This is actually becoming a problem that I have noticed here recently. 1 or 2 guys go run off on a team and swat butterflies while the other 6 has to defend command ship and take on the whole team.

These 2 that ran off did absolutely nothing to help the team but end up on top of the board. It is ridiculous and we should definitely get a developers intervention.

I have never seen a person top the score board doing this unless the rest of the team was absolute garbage. but you're use of 'butterflies' belays your ignorance. 3 assault ships and a fighter cluster is worth more points than a player kill and takes 1/3 the time to kill. I've kept more than a few teams ahead simply by killing every single 'butterfly' I saw between engagements. Like when you spawn 90% of the time there's fighters there, shoot them and bam! 30-60 points. Fk I've had plenty of spawns where just getting back to the battle i'll rack up 100+ points in fighters/assault ships before i'm even in range to shoot a player. Here's some numbers to chew on. A TII/III medium sniper can one shot any of these targets. If he can manage to shoot an assault ship every time his gun is loaded he'll gain 30 points every 4 seconds that's 450 points per minute. or 4.5 player kills per minute how many TII/TIII players are making that in the average game? But I see what you mean. he should totally go shoot at that TIV dreadnought, do no damage, and get killed all game because we want the enemy to win faster right?

Dola is designed as a bruiser in a game that barely rewards you for assists. It was the ship I went for in closed beta and I experienced its underwhelming abilities first hand. That being said I was able to play a decent bruiser and keep constant pressure on the enemy if I was careful with my positioning. As I said though you don't get rewarded well for being an effective bruiser.

The Dola wasn't as painful as I expected, let me list some pluses:

  1. Both Ballistic cannons and frag guns are hold button down firing.
  2. Because of #1; they are great anti-corvette platforms. Setting up near arty cruisers is a good way to rack up kills if the enemy has two or more.
  3. Great as a Command Ship escort, use the big guy for cover while firing missiles or the Goliath. Abuse Module Reboot for cheap kills.
  4. It's got armor on par with a dreadnought so even T4 destroyers are legitimate prey.

Minuses:
1. It's very slow, you have to have thrusters on the entire time to enter the fight. Getting out of a tight spot is nearly impossible.
2. Ballistic cannons don't do much damage unless you have Weaponbooster or damage amplifier on.
3. Frag guns have very little ammo.
4. A favorite target for artillery cruisers.

and most importantly #5. the Koschei is not the unicorn it was a little while ago. I see them in 1 out of 3 battles now and there could soon be a glut as everyone wants one.

I don't consider myself a good pilot, but I'm getting experience and improving.

Having done most the Dola grind before they improved the main guns (yes, they used to be worse), I'll share some of my experience.

Most of your kills are going to be module kills, torpedoes and missiles. Module reboot helps a lot as these are your primary weapons.

Onslaught is preferred, unless you're willing to go the Proving Grounds route (not available to PS4 yet, i think).

If you happen upon a spawn point for assault ships, get close and fire away. You could easily get enough ships to offset when someone notices you and proceeds to waste you.

Pay attention to where the spawn points are for the Command ship. Get there as quickly as you can and get some points from that kill. The command ship is particularly susceptible to your modules as it moves slowly.

Follow the healers around, usually in the company of Dreadnoughts. If you are luckky enough to get one to sit on your tail, you can duke it out with just about anyone. Get in close and personal and let your healer hide behind you.

I've collected my Koschei and could collect a Blud, if I wanted to. After I played it for a while it became a relatively easy ship to fly, just real slow. Got some of my worst score in it, and some of my best.
