So, I recently bought the Palos tactical cruiser and have really been struggling to figure out how it's supposed to play, i've tried searching the forums and internet for information on how to play it and the only inkling of information i've managed to find is "it's good against corvettes", which is all well and good but that seems a bit niche to base the entire gameplay of a ship around. Is there something i'm missing or some secret to playing it right? Or is it just an underwhelming ship which can't really do much?
This ship just seems to lack any kind of edge, it hasn't got particularly impressive firepower, honestly it doesn't even feel like it does much more damage than the Ceres at tier III (which I feel like there should be a more noticeable difference given I can't actually heal). The ship isn't particularly tanky either, which means it's not going to be able to get in close to brawl, which would sort of be what would make sense given it's decent speed, but as I previously mentioned it's low armor and lack of firepower means in a close-range fight you'll get ground into dust and getting close enough to use your Tesla's is practically suicide.
The module selection also seems too limited to really diversify your options for different playstyles. Unless there's some module that's way better in practice than it appears on paper.
Is there some secret playstyle that makes this ship shine? Or is it just a deadweight without any redeeming features? If so, is the rest of this line like that, I notice the tier IV and V's have a lot more modules that could open up more interesting playstyles as well as a better selection of secondary weapons. I really want to like this ship and it's line because I love the idea of a damage focused class with good support capability, also I won't lie, half the reason I want to play this line is because they're the most badass looking ships in the game IMO .
So yea, if anyone could answer some of those questions for me and give me some advice or tips on how to play the Palos (and the rest of it's line for that matter) that'd be great! Thanks.
