First Person POV

One thing which may be cool, would be to add first person view. Maybe not for the larger vessels but for the smaller attack craft?

Or even just a 'barrel view' for the Oberon sniper ships would be nice. It's hard to be accurate when your bow gets in the way of spotting a decent amount of the shots below you.

I will 3rd this. A mode that makes the ship invisible to the camera and puts you in the center mass of the ship. Sometimes it gets tough driving the Dreadnoughts through the canyons trying to look up.

Yes. The camera moving in to the ship when you are shooting below you would be great. Nothing worse in my Jutland when something is under me and trying to run away.

As a fan of first-person views, I've always wondered if there were an effective way of implementing this into Dreadnought. I think it'd only be the most effective with Artillery Cruisers at the moment as they generally have a frequently restricted view. The biggest first-person issue I think would exist in Dreadnought revolves around weapon functionality and view. So many modules and weapons function differently that they may not translate to first-person very well at all.

Honestly, I would support this however the dev's maybe unwilling to implement it due to the amount of time required to design such a major change to game play...Just my opinion.

Why not just switch to a first-person view when using the 'Aim' function?

Game defo needs a first person scope shooting at targets with your own ship in the way is daft and annoying.

Attacking from below or above where you can't see (me) is part of the tactics of the game IMHO.

Here's the best idea!

Create a Settings option for making the player's ship become mostly transparent/translucent ( such as a similar appearance as Light Cloak) when the player's ship blocks the view; i.e., when the player is looking high up or high down and the reticle is blocked by the ship. Of course the ship's transparency/translucency would only appear that way to the player; other players would see the player's ship normally.

This would also eliminate any annoying camera switches between first-person and third-person.
