Goodbye folks, here's why i'm leaving.

I really enjoyed playing Dreadnought at your booth at Gamescom in 2015. It was a great game.
Now, 2 years later i am unable to see any of these great aspects that made me love this game back in the days.
Now, you completly messed up, and thats the reason why i leave now.

Let me start with the first point,
the undeniable Pay to Win you brought in.
Second Point, the imbalance between different tiers, while also the imbalance between different ship classes within one tier.
Third Point, the remarkable graphics downgrade. If many players aint got the hardware, specify the graphics settings even more and don't just turn down the overall quality for all (its ugly, its lazy).

I've seen so many great games in the past, that all made the same mistake:
their developing studios brought in Pay2Win.
And thats why you will fail, or at least, you won't have the success that i thought you'd have two years ago.

Our team is investigating improvements that can be made from a balance standpoint, particularly to improve areas around Tier-III. Improvements to matchmaking should similarly address some of the instances of mismatched tiers playing against each other, which can make any unbalance that is present feel waaayyy more unbearable.

I am interested in how you feel Dreadnought is Pay 2 Win. Apart from Hero Ships allowing newer players access to Tier-IV early, but having no modules or stat benefits a purely free-to-play player would have, I'm not sure where this comes from. Elite status gives you a "boost" over non-Elite players, but that is more "pay to progress faster" I feel. If there is the perception that we are Pay 2 Win somehow, we'd love to address and correct it smile

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I would like to know a bit more about how you feel that we're pay to win. Just a bit more of constructive feedback for us to pass along. I can try to shed some light on the situations you've brought up.

  • Regarding us "bringing pay to win in", our approach has never changed. There are hero ships that are available for purchase but are absolutely not required. These are decked out ships with their own unique look, modules, and weapons. Players that customize their own ships can get the outcome if not a better one. Mind you hero ship tiers range depending on the ship itself.

  • Balance is something that our teams are assessing regularly. Balance is certainly NOT complete by any means. That being said, DO expect to see balance changes across the board. Tweaks are being implemented and will continue to be done until our teams feel that everything is as solid as can be. There are a LOT of serious issues at that take priority over balance (crashes, drops, etc), but we do agree and understand balance is incredibly important as well.

  • Believe it or not, there hasn't been a graphical downgrade whatsoever. At least one that we were never informed of or that we've observed internally. Sure there have been other implementations and optimizations here and there, but nothing that would bring down graphical fidelity.

Again, appreciate your time, as well as your feedback and input.

It's not fair to write that Dreadnought is pay to win game. IT's not.

Do you mean ships that you can buy 4tier? You can get them too just playing game a bit longer. The only difference is a bit different appearance.

Good Luck!

Sorry to see a player go I cant accept the pay to win though because being a player that only gets to play a few (2-3) days a month i would be doing it believe me but i still enjoy playing and I'm trying to level up a couple tier 4,s and elite status does indeed help with this. Graphics are fine and i haven't noticed a downgrade in quality I am running older cards 2x GTX 970,s and its a pretty good looking game and good frame rates so it might be something failing on your end . There are some balance issues and I believe that they will address these in the near future .
Once again sorry to see a player leave but i really do think that maybe you may be a bit frustrated with something and are not giving the game a fair review here.

By all means the door is open see you later and I don't see how this game can be pay to win. All I see is the Devs are willing to try their very best to improve the game which is actually improving. Do you mean pay to win as in with hero ships or grinding faster? I don't understand what you're talking about man.
