Ship styles I would love to see

Gothic ships, that look like floating cathedrals (W40K-ish)

Ships that are "welded hunks of random other ships" (like the Space Orks from W40k or the Reavers from Serenity/Firefly)

Giant decorations, like skulls or masks or banners or gardens, etc

featureless, smooth shapes like eggs or cylinders or flasks

Ships that are lots of independent parts, held together with energy bonds

Asymmetric spiky blobs (like the ships in Buckaroo Banzai)

Ships that look like giant dark spiders (like the Shadow from Babylon 5)

Carriers with effective fighters and bombers.

Scary stuff. And, I have never been a fan of the organic spaceship shapes =/

if you're going to borrow from WH40k, at least mention boarding torpedoes!

Marines started out as naval fighters intended for boarding actions (and repelling them), and amphibious assaults on coastal targets. Their modern-day iterations are usually tasked with missions of assaulting target areas, while deploying from naval vessels, but they do still provide security services for naval vessels.

If the future has space-faring vessels, they will be protected by space-marines (not necessarily in the style of WH40K, probably more like the ones from Aliens or Halo), and ship-boarding actions would not be out of the question, sometimes capturing an enemy vessel intact can be advantageous for a space fleet. They can also neutralize a vessel's various crew, which could cause all sorts of havoc, like disabling engines/navigation, weapons (gunnery, loading, etc), power generation and distribution, communications, and helms.

Don't know if the dev is wanting to go that route with the game or not, but it could add a new dynamic to the game if desired in the future.

After they get this game up and running for the masses, I don't see it being too difficult to add another manufacturer with their own style of ships for our buying pleasure. Once they have the balance down, it's just a matter of creating eye candy.

Sounds fun. But how would the poor, overworked devs balance that?

Hello I'm new :)

I would love to see a dreadnought that is tall like a skyscraper or even a ship that has spikes on it, looking almost straight out of a nightmare.

Also, maybe a corvette design that is one singular gun that can strafe and cause a lot of damage, but slower fire rate. kind of like the baby artillery cruiser, just less damaging and best in groups as like an anti-small craft.

Or ships with a tron look and are sleek in design and glow brightly.

or an alien ship that looks like this
