When you research one officer briefing, can it be used on other ships as well or just the one you researched it at?

I recall them being usable as you see fit prior to Shyard 2.0, from the overview I'd figure that they only go with the ship they are unlocked at... but have hard time believing it since it would be a huge waste to get rid of that aspect...

Can someone confirm please?

K-Wire, thanks. Increasing the amount of objects visible on minimap solved the issue.

I condiser it highly unwise that this is being reduced without the users knowledge - if your game runs slower than expected, it's natural to go to graphic settings and try to reduce some stuff. But if you don't see ships on minimap - it's easy to assume that it's either a bug or idiotic logic of design, I would not have went to look for an option like this if you had not told me.

@Smoker, so your minimap shows allies on it regardless of whether your camera is pointed in their direction?

IMHO:

  1. The minimap is way too small. The fact that your eyes can see further than your spaceship sensors is...

  2. Not being able to see your allies on the minimap unless you are looking at them - even if they are right next to you, is something I consider idiotic beyond recognition.

Thank you.

I haven't been here for a couple of months and after returning and playing a couple of games I can still say - Shipyard 2.0 broke the game. It was a lot more fun and enjoyable before. Quiting (again). Agree with OP.

  • secondaries should be semi-automatic / like in Battlestations: pacific, it was automatic if you weren't using.

Absolutely disagree. Imo should stay manual.

A Tiering system like this one is taking the base models of the ship and stripping them down their design into 5 different "ships" to give the illusion of content. It's even worse.

Absolutely agree. Illusion of content aka Reskin Copy-Pasta - just shows that creators are either lazy or incompetent. The only acceptable outcome of utilizing this would be if it was pure cosmetics - as Honor Harrington suggests.

There are no new ships, just reskinned, trimmed versions of the real deal - please don't pretend it's something else otherwise.... some trust and respect issues will arise.

  • Go into open beta soon. Increase server population and your costumer base. Make use of big selling platforms like Steam or Humble Bundle.

  • Make more frequent and small updates with real content. A new map here, a new game mode there. Captain cosmetics. Social areas to show them off. Implement PvE elements - you miss a huge market segment by going only into PvP.

    .

Generally agree with Harrington's post - except for above.

Going into open beta - would have been good for previous patch. Now people will just look at it and walk away.

Frequent small updates - yeaaah... I would rather get the focus to core mechanics first. All the elements mentioned would be meaningless imo should the game remain in current main state of affaris.

And one thing from myself, that I realized no one mentioned so far - and is one of the greatest imo improvements in the new version. The option to select "any" available type of match. A briliant solution to make the Elimination mode at least somewhat alive - if you want to have a chance to play the other mode except TDM but don't want to spend ethernity in the queue for "a game" then I find this a very good idea. From my perspective it's a pure, 100% improvement and whoever came up with this should get a promotion and attention (unless it's the same person who came up with the Tier system - then forget what I said smile).

I'm gona put it this way.

When I first launched this game half a year ago - I liked it so much, I pulled off an all-nighter, called in sick to work at the morning and continued playing till afternoon.

I loved the customization, flexibility and dynamics right off the bat. I also had this taste of collectible card games where you build your deck before you go into the fight.

I'd never do it for this version of the game.

Agree with OP

I would personally like to see a single tier system. All ships/modules are available to unlock from the start, but must be unlocked using general XP pool.

Modules should be ship specific under this model (they can all have access to the same modules, but must unlock them per ship).

+1 to that

The wat I see it / suggest is as follows: all ships available from the start (perhaps not the same price)

Every ship has one tech tree for the sake of choosing where you want to go with unlocks instead of grinding from lvl 1-50 and get a ton of stuff you will not use anyway.

I would vote that tech tree should have majority of the same modules in different order/price variation + at least one unique module / feature per ship. The only example so far was Tac cruiser offense/healing beam properties separation, which I found a big positive.
