Ya I was thinking it'd be kinda cool to bring in something like BF conquest and have zones to control. I don't know what the limitations of the engine are though for map size. Attack/defend would be a cool mode. Onslaught is kinda like that.

I really enjoy the mixed pve/pvp modes like Onslaught and would like to see more of them.

I'm pretty good with my vector dread and I enjoy playing it as well.

Finally unlocked my Zmey, but the xp requirements on those mods...egads.

I'm also pretty good with healers and fast destroyers like the vindicta.

I suck hard with corvettes and to a lesser extent with the slower destroyers

I'm kinda meh with arty ships

It took me many battles to develop a playstyle that works. Overall I've found that aggressiveness is generally rewarded more than caution, unless you're healing.

f you can give me a reason why there is a player shortage i'd love to hear it

Someone said the game was P2W and drove them away.

suthriel, when what ever you wanna call this stage of the game is over and the "real" game is out, player numbers is >going to stay static. i dont care how much marketing sixfoot or whoever does, the progression system in this game is >going to scare people away after 1 hour of playing. there are a lot of better options on the market for cheaper prices. >call it whatever you want, pay to win, free to play it doesn't matter, it's a bad design, if it was a good system we >wouldn't be having this conversation would we? players in wow dont talk about how there isn't enough people to play >with.

Wow and this are different games, this game is more like WoT, WoWS, War Thunder. WoW you have to buy the base game, expansions, and pay a monthly fee, is that what you want here?

This game is still in BETA, they are tweaking it, and based on our feedback, tweak it again. You can play this whole game for FREE if you want. You will also get FREE "gold" based on tasks completed. If someone has bought premium, you also get a bonus in the game. I don't see what all the fuss is about. They are more generous than others.

I will say that this game is definitely not p2w, however the premium shop, premium benefits, and hero ships need a couple polishing passes to make them more worthwhile. I will pay for premium etc because I want to support the game, however the other games you mention make me feel like I'm getting more of a bang for my buck, and when it comes down to it it's people like me who open their wallets for the game that will keep it going.

I'll add my $.02 and agree that while this tactic is frustrating there are several ways to counter it. However, much like other things in this game, if you don't have the proper loadout and/or team comp you're in for a rough time. Being able to change loadout mid game would be very useful (hint hint greybox). A few things that work well:

Vindictas on suicide runs will generally be able to splat one or two healers using weapon amped flak, if they have storm missiles that alone will usually wipe out one.

Nukes, nuke barrage will also wipe out a heal ball, especially if they're close to the ground

Tartarus(sp) nukes will purge the whole lot of em which makes them easy to kill, but this requires some coordination

Interceptors can ruin their day

Most vettes will be able to alpha a healer esp if you can sneak up on them

Good old fashion focused fire will generally punch through the HPS

A couple arty cruisers with bomb launchers can ruin their day

Etc.

So I agree it's frustrating, but there are many elements to this game that can be frustrating which leads me to think it's probably pretty balanced.

To get the bonus to apply do you have to have energy set to weapons when you activate the module, or when the module effect hits. For instance if you launch missiles does it need to be at weapons when you launch, or when the missiles hit? Also does it affect modules that affect damage like weapon booster?

It's STILL not fixed. The hotfix is live and I'm still scoring like 1/5th lower than I used to, and getting less than half the xp as before. I just had a 0 death healer game where I healed a Blud, kept him alive through a crazy amount of damage, all game long- and scored 800 points. 800!

To add insult to injury, my win booster was worth all of 300xp!

What the heck is going on? This patch is a f-word nightmare.

REVERT BACK TO 1.9.

Hmm the xp issue seemed to be fixed for me. Did onslaught and went 6k 1d with 1500 pts and got >8k xp off of it.

The post patch XP and creds are much improved yay! However, my gfx are now bad. It's very fuzzy almost like looking at it through smudged glasses. Unfortunately I just downloaded the updated nvidia driver also so I don't know which one may have caused it.

I've tried several different gfx settings and usually play on epic at the highest resolution. But now things look fuzzy and stretched out.

Nerfing the xp and cred gain rate, esp even when you have elite status, definitely makes the grind grindier. And it still doesn't really make elite status worthwhile. -1 from me.

Just wonderin if we'll get a ghost ship comand ship or something like that.

TL;DR; Elite status, hero ships, and free XP are not as worthwhile as they should be and thus will reduce income for the game.

I enjoy the game tremendously and have bought both founders packs, not because I thought they were good values, but because I wanted to support the game. However, the cost of free XP is prohibitively expensive, the bonus from elite status is too low, and the benefits for elite status seem lackluster.

If I look at my standard purchase which is $20 that will get me 2500 GP. So I'm spending $1/125GP I'm getting. This means that t4 modules will cost somewhere between $3-$6/ea to unlock. Given the # of modules on a ship and the dubious use of some of these modules this is far to expensive for me to want to spend money on.

I haven't done the math on elite status, but overall it seems like it's only giving me a 10% boost or there abouts. My elite status is going to expire in 10 days and once it does I'll compare my total non-elite to my total elite for approximately the same score and see what elite is actually getting me, but it really seems like the battle bonus far exceeds the elite bonus.

Hero ships do not seem to grant a decent credit increase, nor given the price of free xp does it make me want to spend $$ on converting XP. Given that I have no real incentive to buy any additional hero ships, nor really use any of the ones I've already bought once I've unlocked the sister ship in the same tier. That plus the module layout of hero ships is static, and of very dubious use. The Triton, for instance, is hot garbage IMHO.

I would propose a few changes to get people like me to open up their wallets:

1 Increase the XP/GP ratio so it costs $1 or less (ideally much less) to unlock a module.

2 Increase the bonus given for elite status, or make it more obvious what elite is doing for you.

3 Increase the credit gains from hero ships to bring them more in line with premium offerings from similar games.
