Greybox/Yager/SixFoot...

There is zero reason for the discrepancies between platforms.

Please get feature parity sorted.

PC folks,

I'm going to assume when the change was made, all the GP spent on conversion was lost. Was any pool of ship XP auto converted to free XP? Meaning if you had 1000 XP on a ship, they did all the users a solid and converted 400 to free XP.

Meh...make it an optional mode. Those who don't want to worry about ball$ can stay with the small games.

Use Parallels.

I've not paid special attention to this, but I don't recall any hero ships in my fleet at the time earning any more than non-hero ships. I'll have to take another look.

Belial,

On PC, are you not spending GP to convert to free XP? Is it automatically allocated into the pool?

On the PS4, it's 1GP to convert to 40 free XP. I don't recall what the ratio of ship XP to free XP is (eg if I have 2k XP, I don't think I get 2k free XP at the cost of 50GP...it's less than that...probably the same 40% as above).

As far as that conversion goes, it's the same rate whether hero ship or fully researched ship.

Hence the misnomer.

I see where the confusion comes in. I read "directly" to mean that's really all you can use it for. Capital "F" seems to be more of a "branding" thing.

In any event, the notes don't suggest a change per se. It's just poorly worded.

Was there a change? I've been under the impression it's always cost GP to convert. I think "free" in this context is a misnomer. While free to use against any ship's module research, it's obviously not free to allow said XP to get to that point.

This was the case prior to the patch.

Oh what the h3ll...this thread is rediculous then. If it's a matter of better strategy because some people actually communicate...well tough.

I can't find any actual documentation on squad bonuses, but I'm guessing there's a damage bonus given, among other things?

If so, this is simple...just remove it all and only give points bonuses for squads. That removes all the unnecessary issues.

Until they figure out the mismatch, this is the only solution. There is zero disadvantage and puts the strategy solely back on team coordination, which can easily be done in non-squad teams anyway. At least on PS4, voice chat already exists...even if someone doesn't have a headset, at least they can listen.

Actually, I think it works much better.
