I've been playing for a while now and was looking forward to the Steam launch with the promised new features, improvements and bug fixes.
But let's face facts, the PC version is currently terrible! I can't understand what planet the developers have been on. Why haven't they taken on board all the feedback from the Beta and built on that? The UI is worse than ever, totally unintuitive with a clunky home made feel. Annoying ping sound when selecting anything that can't be turned off, confusing layout, too many clicks to get into a game, if you can actually log in.

I've never seen a wait que to actually get into the front UI in any other game. In game sounds have been messed up, sound bugs, freezing in maches, a stupid fake graphical "Interference" in the UI. Stupidly large font, etc. etc.
Please developers get a grip on this disaster, please restore and fix these urgent problems otherwise your potential sales within Steam with take a huge hit with all the negative reviews.

As I said I've been playing for a while and love the concept of the game and I am more than happy to pay for improvements and premium ships etc. in the same way as WT or WoW, Wot and so on. I refuse to uninstall because potentially it could be up there with some of the great ones with some imagination and common sense. STOP NOW-ADMIT YOUR MISTAKES AND FIX THIS MESS. Thank you in advance.

Seems like this is a global problem, I've had the same result. I read the Devs are urgently working on it.

Slow moving, vulnerable big target carriers with weak defences and anaemic fighters and bombers unable to take down 'vettes? Brilliant idea!

Hi, imho there is no logical explanation, just another balance issue to be resolved in upcoming updates. There is also no true customisation in the game at the moment. Once you have researched a module and bought it there's no going back, you are stuck with it. Why? I can't think of any other MMO game that chains you down like that, you should be able to swap out and select your loadout as you please.

Thank you OP for the best explanation I have seen as to why this game is flawed and has to change, I agree 100%. I'm from a similar background having played hundreds of space/flight/Military/RTS games. Space based include Elite Series + Elite Dangerous , Starglider (ancient!) I-War, any Trek, most SW, Freespace 1 & 2 , Wing Commander Series & SC, Freelancer, Homeworld 1 & 2, Eve, X series, Sins Of A Solar Empire and so on. There's no doubt in their current form 'vettes in this game are the most fundamentally OP ever seen. The devs have to do something, otherwise the game will die as people will just decide being seal clubbed is not for them any more.

There's no doubt exactly how you achieve this rebalance without causing too much anger for some players is a difficult job. If you pardon the pun I feel it needs to be a balanced approach. Certainly their primary DPS must reduce, but perhaps changing their role so they need to work with the team more rather than being lone wolf assassins and still keeping them fun to play by having a valid role in the team. Perhaps as in other games they could gain XP and credits for spotting and acting as target designators for heavy nukes and other long range weapons. Adding more stasis missiles to T1-T3 ships, increasing flak range and some kind of AWACS drone module class that can detect any incoming cloaked 'vette for a set period of time (V1-5) would give other ships at least some sort chance to react properly. If you play Elite Dangerous, it's like a Sidewinder or Eagle sneaking up on an Anaconda and blowing it up in 5 seconds. If that stupid scenario was for real in the game the Devs offices in Cambridge UK would have riot on their hands-and a dead game!

Although stats were improved a lot recently, this issue has been overlooked so far. I can't think of any other MMO that misses out on main weapon load out/ stats at a glance before you buy it. A simple addition to either the main stats box when selected in the Tech Tree and/or a small section added to the module upgrade screen would do it. Another job for the UI team, maybe fixed in 1.80? Certainly by 2.0 I would hope.
