Greetings, Captains!


This is our current Commonly Reported Bugs list for 1.8.1. As with last time, this is a shorter list that includes general terms geared towards including many issues in a simplified format.


We’d like our Captains to keep in mind that this is not an all-inclusive list, but it does encompass most of our current issues in a more compact read-through. We also wish to remind players that if they encounter any issues with running Dreadnought or account related issues, Customer Service is available to keep them flying. If you see something that is not on this list that doesn’t mean it isn’t a bug, so please do not hesitate to report it through our in game Bug Reporter!

Compatibility Issues



  • VR is not currently supported.

  • Using ultra-widescreen (21:9) will result in UI scaling and FOV issues while in Hangar and in match.

  • Using resolutions higher than 1920x1080p in Windowed mode may result in “disco hangar”. This is due to graphics drivers conflicts. Updating graphics drivers should resolve this issue. If not, perform a clean install of the graphics drivers.


Launcher/Install



  • Launchers may not properly update to the correct version of Dreadnought after a patch. If a “matchmaking error” is received, close the program, restart the launcher, and run a repair. If the issue persists, contact Customer Service.

  • Signing in on Launcher may still result in a secondary Log-In screen in game.

  • Signing in on Launcher and launching game may net a “Service Unavailable” message and send player to a secondary Log-In screen. Simply relaunch the game through the Launcher to fix this error.

  • HTTP Transport Failure is still occasionally occurring -- just let the launcher sit, it’s still downloading.

  • Launcher may crash while in game.


Stability



  • Latency may be an issue for some players, causing delayed effects or damage.

  • Crashes, freezes, infinite loading issues, or return to hangar issues in loading screens may still occur, even with Late Join.

  • Alt+tabbing during a loading screen may make the application become unresponsive.

  • Freezing may occur in the initial tutorial combat when opening the settings menu and idling.

  • Various UE4 crashes may occur.

  • Accounts with more than 255 friends may experience issues with their account data. This can be remedied by reducing friend count to less than 255.

  • Players may spawn into a match without a skybox or a ship model.

  • Players may spawn into a match and experience severe issues manifesting with weapons and modules not loading, cannot see enemies, cannot see HUD, spawning under the map, and no Orbit phase. This issue is linked to synchronization. Checking internet connections and resolving any network issues before playing may help this issue.

  • Alt+Tabbing with certain hardware configurations may result in a soft crash.


Outpost/Hangar/Market



  • Profanity filter may filter some non-profane words unintentionally

  • Hangar UI may be missing some elements.

  • Captain Customization items may not display GP on items unless they are selected.

  • Certain Hangar buttons may overlap each other when entering the Captain Customization menu.

  • Camera may not behave naturally when customizing ship vanity items or loadouts.

  • Certain modules and vanity items may clip unnaturally when previewed/equipped.

  • Users may encounter an issue with their UI stating that they no longer have Elite Status, instead displaying the “Become Elite!” overlay. Don’t worry, Captains! Players will still retain their Elite Status -- bonuses will still apply at the end of matches and users will still have all 4 contract slots available.

  • Ship icons may become unresponsive in Hangar.

  • Play button may break after receiving a matchmaking error. Restarting the application will resolve this issue.

  • Friends List UI may list accounts as Online when they are inactive/offline.

  • When Friend’s List is open and then a player attempts to add ships to fleet, players will be unable to close either.

  • Some coatings, patterns, and other vanity items may give an “error message” when attempting to purchase. (rare)


Tech Trees



  • “Research Requirements Met” may be checked even when players have insufficient XP/Credits

  • Ship, weapon, or module research descriptions will disappear completely if users access Developer Credits while viewing the Tech Tree

  • Various spelling and grammatical errors present on modules/abilities in the tech tree.

  • Extended play in the Tech Tree may cause performance degradation. (rare)


Ships



  • Artillery Cruiser cameras may not behave realistically.


Contracts



  • Players may receive repeated notifications of contract completion

  • Players may receive completion on quests that they did not do

  • Career Progression quests may not be completing when the objective is fulfilled

  • Career Progression tab may lock itself after after unlocking “Captain” level


Gameplay



  • Buff pulse modules are blocked by friendly shields.

  • In-Game Chat may appear unresponsive on occasion

  • Elite Status rewards are not giving the correct amount of rewards.

  • When the player attains a double digit K/D, the last number is truncated.

  • Scoreboard may not update team score properly.

  • Players may spawn into a match upside-down or on top of other friendly ships.

  • Tractor Beam modules may not function properly.

  • Certain Missiles/Nukes/Torpedos may not behave properly while in a match.

  • Pod effects may turn invisible after the parent ship is destroyed. Destroy all the enemy pods!

  • Players may be unable to select ships when using resolutions higher than 2560x1440, or using Windowed Fullscreen on displays with native resolutions higher than that.

  • Resuming a match with the GUI resume button while in respawn screen or in orbit may make camera/mouse unresponsive.

  • Force respawn time may occasionally be inconsistent with the visible timer.

  • Onslaught - After first respawn, some users may encounter an issue where they must wait until force warped to return to match.

  • Onslaught - Text indicators about command ships may not appear on screen.

  • Module Activation voice overs may repeat themselves.

  • Module lock-on voice overs may trigger when spawning and respawning when an enemy is within view, though outside of range.

  • Beam Aim-Assist may behave improperly in a match.

  • UI may not update health status of both enemies and friendlies after a respawn.

  • Team Elimination scoring widget may not update properly during matches.

  • Team Elimination may show incorrect ship number, status, and type of ship. (uncommon)

  • Ships may be able to clip through environment and structures on certain maps.

  • Certain modules may have inconsistencies related to actual cooldowns vs. intended cooldowns


UI



  • Changed usernames may reflect on UI but not in chat.

  • Some UI elements may overlap.


Settings



  • Some keys are unable to be keybound.

There is currently no whisper function while in a match. Additionally, any chat messages are cleared when transitioning through a loading screen.


This is a well know issue, and something developers are working actively on to greatly improve.


A fantastic alternative i the DN Discord, where there are plenty of veteran Captains and Devs.

I assume there is still no solution to this? My other problem with not being able (or knowing how to) reply in game is that once I am back in the hanger the messages don't show up any more, not even when whispering to the same person. What's the status on this? Thank you smile.

Please help. Every time I load the launcher up, the metafile will not load. I've tried restarting, re-installing, everything, but the metafile will not load. please help.

Keep in mind that just because an issue may not be listed here, that doesn’t mean it’s not a bug!

- Multiple issues regarding the non-translation//improper translation of DE, ES, FR in all areas of the game.


Performance

- Crashes may occur upon joining a match or while in orbit (late-join and full queue).

- Adding the same ship to a slot within a fleet will cause the game to soft lock.

- It is possible for the Dashboard UI to remain in match causing the player to crash once the match has been concluded.

- Framerate dips when activating components of the Tech Tree (purchasing//researching)

- Ship loading times are slow when in the Outpost


Account

- Previously created Grey Box accounts can become unlinked from the PSN account if the player experiences a network disconnect.

- Disconnecting during the onboarding video will present a replay and replaying issues.

- It is possible to acquire the Silesia twice - Each Founder's Pack


Squad

- Squad members may experience matchmaking issues upon squad disbandment.

- Possible for incorrect Captain Rank to be displayed in Squad UI


Customization

- Preview functionality can present display issues across all Ship // Captain components.

- Vanity items do not appear equipped when purchased until scrolled to and equipped.

- Ship model modifications can be visually overlapped in the Hangar


Havoc

- Player will begin next round as a Fighter if they are destroyed during the End of Wave screen.

- Framerate dips when a new Wave Warps into battle.

- Point Totals and Awarding are inconsistent.

- Wave Modifiers are inconsistent.

- Artillery Cruiser Modules can be on cooldown upon Wave start.

If you found yourself disconnected or unable to log in during that time, you can now log back in.

  • Light Dreadnoughts seem to be using the Corvette shields.


It was edited in once we confirmed it was indeed not intended early this morning.

We pushed a launcher hotfix 1.8.0a at 3:30 pm CDT to address a bug that gave users the error "The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP140.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem." and "The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem."


This error should no longer occur. If this is still the case, please contact Customer Support as soon as possible so we can troubleshoot and resolve this.
