There was similar problem with Fractured Space, but they summed it up pretty well:

Which would you rather? A match against premades, or a 1 hour wait time?

Matchmaking times are nowhere near as bad as that here of course, but you get the idea.

It wouldn't increase the wait time for solo or 2 person groups if it was done correctly. the only wait time increase would be for 3-4 person groups.

Its good to see that the DN devs are actually doing something to adress community frustrations though, I had figured they were of the same mindset as they were back at the beginning of 2017, where they were fine with driving players off because its THEIR game and THEIR vision. who remembers early 2017 dreadnought? Where losing a match meant losing a lot of money instead of gaining any, you had to pay repair costs at the end of every match and they were huge costs that could even drain the bank of a team who won if you weren't in the top 3 spots. And eventually if you had a pretty bad loss streak you'd be locked out of your Tier 3+ ships because you weren't making enough per match to repair your ships.

Then DN devs say "Oh yeah that was planned, its so you don't sit in your tier #+ ships and have to go to tier 1-2 ships"

Anyways, its good to see they've changeed from self-destructive behavior

No one on the recieving end has fun when you've got a full team of 10 pubs while the enemy team has a 4 stack in coms. Dreadnought devs should take notes from other arena battle games that have said that "matching groups against groups would do nothing but increase queue times" but ended up being forced to make groups wait in queue until they can be matched against another group.

This x2 weekend has been absolute aids to play becuase its just a bunch of clans 4stacking in coms and steamrolling the other team. and you never see them against eachother.

I think fighters, interceptors, and bombers need an overhaul.

Fighters are usually sad and minor annoyances. ( I still usethem because I like the idea of being a carrier) they are also pretty dumb when it comes to target selection.I would rather they choose targets based on size instead of their current selection (I'm not actually sure how they pick targets)

Anyways, their range is 3k(2k?). I would rather they choose targets either Corvette > Arty > Tac > Dessie > Dread or based on lowest health

interceptors can do a good amount of damage, i've seen them used effectively against arty who are just hiding out being a nuissance but overall they are easily countered due to their slow movement speed, abysmall HP, and their flight path from dread to target being a straight line keeping them in the FoV of the target. As you said, I would rather have them pull flanking maneuvers and then try to return to the dread which would lower cooldown.

Bombers though, I have legitimately never seen anyone use bombers (I think i might pick them up to see why) I assume its because of their lowish damage, huge cooldown, and I assume they share the same hp and flight patterns as the interceptors. and if they follow the same deployment style of the mine catapult that arties get then they are probably really really bad. becasue the mine catapult places their mines so far above any targets when they deploy that only a pretty new player will fall for them and fly up to the ceiling to trigger them.

I think all scramble needs to have done to it is to remove damage numbers showing up for those who've been affected. Its not supposed to be fun to have it used against you, its a debuff. If being "debuffed" is fun then its not serving its purpose. whats next "taking damage is unfun and the game needs to be a cuddle party"?

i disagree, those need to be there or youre a sitting duck. No one liked being debuffed but its part of the game, we have to deal. Id like to see the static fade more as it happens, but again, i dont feel in its current form its a game breaker.

I see it as more when you're scrambled your visuals are disrupted and the numbers are part of the visual overlay so that should be scrambled as well. But I would agree having a more gradual fade on the static wouldn't be a terrible idea. but as with you, I don't think scramble in its current form is a game breaker. its an annoyance sure but if it was as OP as some people want to claim then it would be widely used and not just used on light dessies.

You know modules and everything else will still lock on and work right? It is just a visual debuff, nothing more.

That I didn't know. But I guess it makes sense because we have the disrupt debuff so having scramble also disrupt would remove the need for disrupt.

I've been trying to play with Mine Catapult. Its awful becasue even if you position just right and let the mines loose they always deploy maybe 4-5 ships above the highest altitutde target.

I tried targetting a tac that was hugging the ground and it placed the mines above the dreadnought who was probably 10+ ship lengths above it.

Mines auto deploy function is aids.

I've been having a lot of fun with Flechettes and missile repeaters. Many people never watch WHO is firing the missiles or even care to pay attention so they often think the repeaters are just some drain or stasis missiles and let them come.

Then they get right up on you and its like "Surprise! theres actually 16 of us!" not quite as much damage as storms with a 4800 alpha difference, but you've got 3k more range and people don't usually blow anti missiles on them.

Oberon dreads and destroyers have a big speed advantage. Further once you the Lorica youve got a really good ship. You can use it to tank well or support. I had to really push to get the Invictus but man is that thing a beast.

I've switched to using my lorica as a front line fighter and flechette delivery system while my Vindicta has been used as a missile delivery system. I just cant decide if I want to put module reboot or thrust amplifier on it. pretty much all my oberon ships have been converted to "Annoyance delivery systems" with my nox being equipped with sentries and mines and my Aion having teslas and FHB. The only thing I don't use as an anonyance delivery system is the Medusa, which I have purposed as my "annoyance removal system" Its basically just a vette I have put together to take out other vetes.

So much this. $20 for some lasy recolor and a couple of pictures no one will see on your ship is kind of rediculous.

What we need next:

-Maitanance removement, reducing or reworking it.

- C class

-mushroom clouds

-Light arty rework

-havoc mode

-territory mode

-grind overhaul.

-more modules

-map selector

-In game real money payment saystem (example: buying a zaratan for 4.99 USD/Euro)

This is greybox we're talking about so I can assume what we are really going to get

-no maintenance removal it will stay the same because GB are stubborn children

- No grind overhaul because they have to either force you to buy elite(which doesn't help the grind much by the way) or quit the game due to shoddy dev teams

-MORE MICROTRANSACTIONS because as game devs they know exactly what you want. and it's not an enjoyable game. It's horse armor, hundreds of variation of horse armor. You're welcome.

You would think they would have made several changes to all the things people have issues with before opening it up to open beta. But nope. they ignore us, then censor our complaints on the forums. then shoot themselves in the foot by opening this monstrosity to the public.

I've already done my part. my entire guild on multiple games refuses to touch the game until they make it enjoyable and stop being insanely greedy. its quite easy to remove chunks of players, potential or otherwise. all you have to do is point out the fact that a team cares more about their income than the people who provide it.
