Kills only count on real players, you don't get credit for the kills on Bots.

I've heard this before, how on earth can you tell what's a bot and what isn't?

And what's the difference between a "captain" kill and a regular one?

Will never buy a premium ship again until 2 things happen. 1) At least double the current XP as well as a big credit boost - right now the rewards dont even make them worth flying since they are so gimped, and 2) They behave like the preorder ships, where I can freely use their cosmetics, paints, patterns, etc however I want.

Number 2 already HAShappened. I haven't played since well before Xmas, and even I know that

The only things that are restricted now are the parts (Ie hull, stern etc

Welcome to the game Kyten44.

I've had the game for years, but I can't claim to have the experience or skill to match. I've been on and off the whole time. It really is a great game. It has more than enough players, people who say it's dead or dying are blowing things way out of proportion.

The game can get a bit grindy, but it's free to play so it has to have something to compensate. That's not to say you can't be competitive without taking your wallet out of course. It's immensely fun, and very joyous when you pull something off that was pre-planned and executed. The satisfaction is there, if you can earn it!

A question to those who have both ships- How does the Pheonix compare to the Outis?

I only have the Outis and I have to say that on paper, I see no reason why someone would want to buy the Pheonix. I confess, it looks badass! A gorgeous ship indeed. But the Outis looks just as good, it could even be argued as to which looks better depending on your taste.

But modules, gameplay, functionality? On paper, it looks to me like the Outis trumps the Pheonix in all areas... By the time you pay the price asked of the Pheonix, you might as well shell out for the Outis and get a whole bunch of extras including 6 additional hero ships in the Mercenary pack instead.

In all honesty, I don't care as to whether or not I can use my tier 5 ships- just as long as I can use their cosmetics in the lowers tiers. That being said I do respect the fact that a lot of people want that higher level play.

I was always quite proud of sneaking behind enemy lines to make a catapult kill from below in artillery cruisers. It reflected the strategies and nuances of stealth ships in Fractured Space. You hit like a freight train, but you're crippled if anyone so much as sneezes in your general direction after you're visible. It takes forethought and adaptability to get out of it alive, especially with multiple enemies. It brought a new type of skillset to the table, one not focussed on the kill itself but the setup and follow-up.

With a fuse added to the bomb catapult, I sincerely hope that another ship is introduced at some point to take advantage of this now lost, but extremely refreshing high-risk high-reward playstyle. You could argue we have the Corvettes I suppose, but it's not quite the same with their mobility and escape modules. I want your survival to rely on your ingenuity, not your equipment. Give me a good cloak drive, a weak hull, and a BIG weapon. Leave the rest up to the skill of the player.

Hi all, returning newb here o7

Not sure about the OP's idea, but his reasoning is solid in my opinion. The issue isn't so much the fact that to take a target down you first have to deal with their healer, but the fact that if there's 2 or 3 then you just can't. It's an endless triangle of heals, even focus-firing has little effect on taking any of them down. Even with the most ideal of circumstances it's a monumental challenge.

But let's say you only have 1 or 2 ships trying to achieve it and somehow beat the odds, you STILL have 2 more healers causing the same issue to a slightly lesser degree. By the time you manage take out another, the first one you killed will have returned. All of this is of course assuming you have the skill and no small amount of luck to avoid dying yourself in the process.

On an unrelated note about the forums- You guys STILL have spambots plaguing the place!?!? How long has that been going on? This was a problem when I played last YEAR!

Hi and welcome! I consider myself an intermediate player and I assure you the community is very accomodating.

My top 3 tips are:

1) Know your role.

2) Know your ship.

3) Know your enemy's ship.

This is one of those games that rewards out-smarting your opponent based on deep knowledge of what every ship in the match is and isnt capable of. First section off the ships into their types and get to know them (artillery, dreadnought, tactical etc). After you're comfortable with that, focus and learn what each ship can do individually in its own right.

Pick your targets, and try not to push your ship into doing something it's really not supposed to. Even ships of the same type can be considerably different, so just because you can fly a light tac cruiser doesn't mean you can pilot a medium one with the same prowess.

I would also reccomend taking a break and come back later for one simple reason- You guys on PS4 are behind in updates. PC is a mile ahead of you guys and I promise you, things get a LOT better. Our updates will eventually trickle down to you as planned.
