Getting a kill doesn't mean you did the most damage. Doing damage, using abilities, and healing teammates could all lead to having the highest score while not having the most kills.

Hey guys I just wanted to jump in and say you are all awesome! The way the conversation evolves and the points you bring up are extremely similar to ones we have in house while working on the game. I can see how heal beams might not fit the fiction perfect but as you also pointed out it works really well for gameplay.


However we are all fans of the fiction too. So when we can we make things like placeable repair stations and repair drones that follow friendlies around repairing them. If it's possible to root something within the fantasy of giant spaceships we are all for it! Another thing that was mentioned was disrupting or shutting down other ships ability to warp out of a bad situation. Each class has it's own role/playstyle but a few of them have abilities that allow you to disrupted ability use.

And why don't you simply give a "ship slot", and actually let the players choose which ships they want to buy first ? Because waiting for the last level to unlock the ship you truly want to play can be kind of frustrating.



Ya I can totally see what you mean and I'll make sure to pass the feedback along to the progression designers. A lot of this is really work in progress and something we have yet to nail down.

So all of this is still in flux. Right now the first ship you can buy is a Destroyer however after level 2 you can purchase one of each class. However all of this will change so it's super hard to say which will be the first Dreadnought you will be able to earn. My guess would be the Akula, Dreadnought Medium but don't quote me smile

Hey guys it was a ton of fun. I love how much info you guys can grab just from us playing and joking around smile If you have more questions let us know and I'll try and answer what I can. Pink is totally in the game just not in the Alpha for example smile


Also different classes have different shields. So a dreadnought shield uses very little energy while blocking around 60% damage. This means he can leave it on for a very long time but doesn't block as much damage. The Corvette is the opposite he blocks 100% damage but can only keep the shield on around 2-3 seconds. All the other classes fall in between these two extremes.


And again team work and positioning are what's currently OP in Dreadnought. That last match was super hard to win because the other team grouped up and work together the only reason we could pull off a win was because we hid and waited to pick off any player that got out of formation. There will be more abilities and such to help break up formations but right now a team that communicates and sticks together is a dangerous force to be reckoned with.

Glad you enjoyed it. It is really fun for us as well. I tried to make sure we showed off some ships that haven't had as much time in the spotlight but it's hard to get through all 15 in the alpha because we started at Captain rank 1 T-T

Right now I'm not for sure. I don't know how much back story will be revealed in the singleplayer. But I can tell you that the three manufactures of the ships are Jupiter Arms, Akula, and House Oberon whether all the names stay that in the end I'm not for sure on that either. We have lore and information about each of them but I personally don't know where and how that info will be used in the game. It does effect each subclass as they have different armor, speed, and designs. It's also possible we might add manufactures at some point so if you guys have ideas don't hold back.

The corvette can have secondary beam turrets like in the image above however they do not take out missiles like the anti missile turrets that also use beams. The corvette's secondaries are super short ranged, high damage weapons. Would be cool to hear more about what you guys think though, as I also think it would be cool to see some more beam weapons.
