Greetings and salutations captains,
Before we get down to business we want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for your ongoing and overwhelming support for this game and it's amazing community. Without you there would be no Dreadnought, so from the bottom of our hearts THANK YOU!
Let’s get down to it shall we?
We are just as excited as you are to get you in the game. But we also want this game to live up to its full potential. You deserve the best game that we can make, and we want our baby to shine when it sees the light of day.
Based on this, we have decided to give the game a bit more time. Polish it, balance it, optimize it even more, so Dreadnought becomes the game we all want it to be and that you want to play for a long time with us. In particular, we’re focused on improving player progression, UI, the experience of introducing new players to the game, and general “quality of life” changes.
As Dreadnought is a special breed of game, this process will take more time than we initially hoped for. As it currently stands, multiple phases of the closed alpha for Dreadnought will be starting in Fall of 2015 followed by a closed beta that is projected to start in early 2016. Some of you will be able to participate in these phases (make sure you’re signed up: www.playdreadnought.com ) and we look forward to receiving your feedback. After we crunch the data and iterate on what we’ve learned from previous phases, we will be opening the hangar doors and launching into open beta! We will do everything in our power to make this happen and if things change, we only have your best interests in mind.
In the meantime, we will continue to engage with you on streams and ask you to please continue joining in discussions on the forums, commenting on Facebook, Reddit, and tweeting at us on Twitter. Expect to see a shipload of information about ships, maps, and more as we get nearer to closed beta!
Again - thank you for supporting us. Your enthusiasm during tradeshows, on the forums and all the other communication channels is what keeps us going.
Cheers and salute,
The Dreadnought Team
