The reintro of ambient engine noise is creating a return of several old sound bugs on PS4... this is reported from multiple players!


It creates "skipping" of other game sounds.


It also continues after the match has ended.


It seems to be worst on Akula and oberon corvettes!


Perhaps remove ambient engine noise again?

Ps4 still gets 4 minute leg q time.... and we still have people commenting in the forums!

If enough players have that attitude... the game will never truly be dead!


PS5 will be backward compatible for PS4... just a thought!

Many players in the PS4 community think a weekly server reboot/restart would solve multiple recurring crashes/bugs.


Whatever time would be convenient for GB/6' would of course be appropriate.
We collectively imagined Monday morning every week, or whatever time is the lowest server pop/usage, that coincides with the hours of the maintenance staff. (to reduce overtime or inconvenience)


We understand staff and resources are limited, but preemptive and proactive server reboots may stop problems before they occur, or reduce the time players experience crashes to a minimum.


Usually when crashes occur, players stop playing for a few days, and some never return if the wait is too long.
This hurts population in the long term.
However, although play time would be affected in the short term with weekly reboots, if they were regularly scheduled, players would be able to plan their gaming accordingly. This would ultimately results in more stable long term player count, and would provide stability and good reputation to attract new players.

PS Black screen crash is back on PS4 server

Hello!


Sorry to bring bad news on the Holidays...


This is for the PS4 server.


At about 9PM East, multiple players were reporting that they couldn't choose ships at the start of the match, and that once the match started, they were unable to play because the screen goes totally black.


There are some sound effects but the player is unable to play the game.


I have experienced this and so has about a dozen PS4 players.

I say return Custom matches!


and Also make "PLAY ANY MATCH" randomize between available game modes instead of choosing the majority (onslaught)

that way all game modes show up, and most people click "ANY mode", so it wouldnt hurt ques!

Although it is true that bots are better than some players, they are pretty silly when compared to veteran/elite players.


I'd ALSO like to add that before this change, the PS4 server que times were very low and there were very few bots. so this change has defeinately made things worse for us!!!
(you know, the neglected and overlooked majority of the player base, on the server that was called a "moderate success" by gaming outlets???)


I think this is because the bot ships have module builds that an AI lacks the strategy and nuance to fly appropriately!
Expecially corvette bots. However, the Tac and Arty bots are actually decent!


my solution is not to "reinvent" the AI programming (since we lack RnD), but instead, change the AI ships module builds to much more simplistic builds that are straight foward and compliment the human players!


for example:
The bots are notorious for not being able to handle movement mods and jumping without goofing it up!
especially modules like warp jump, after burner, blink warp, and tac target jump


Instead replace these kinds of maneuver mods with armor amp mods.


Another example:
Bots lack the strategy, timing and nuance to use status effect modules! (especially corvettes and arty)
Therefore, replace these modules with damage modules!


Also: bots with goliath torpedos BLOWING THEMSELVES UP!!! LOL!!!


Here are some basic bot builds for each class that would probably drastically increase bot performance and help human team members!


All Corvettes:
Medium Cloak (or light), Torpedo Salvo, Blast Pulse, Armor Amp.


All Tacs:
Artillery pod, Flachettes, Repair auto beams, Armor amp.


All Destroyers:
Tempest missiles, Flachettes, Weapon booster pulse (or h3ll lazers), Energy Generator.


All Arty:
Bomb Catapault, Flachettes, Anti missile pulse (or h3ll lzrs), Armor Amp.


All dreads:
Nuke, Vulture missiles (or light), Armor booster pulse, Armor Amp.


With these kinds of builds the AI can be effective at supporting human players and not do annoying things like:
blink warp to the edge of the map and get stuck, firing drain missiles at a corvette while they are firing at a dreadnought, target warp to the same spot they were at before (looking at you thomas ryu in the Ohkta/Koschei), senslessly after burner into walls, or BLOWING THEMSELVES UP WITH THIER OWN GOLIATH!!!!


whatever problems there are in 8v8, will be amplified and exasserbated in 5v5, as well as making matches less fun and longer to resolve!


If it is inevitable that there will be more bots in our matches, lets give the bots the proper tools to be effective fighters, and not such a burden to human players!!

WOW THAT WAS AWESOME!

For several hours now the PS4 server has experienced unplayable lagg.


This isn't "normal lagg"!


One player in dread chat called it "Max Headroom" Lagg!


I played one game and it took 45 seconds to empty a flak clip, and another 15-20 seconds for the hits to register!


The game play "skips" over and over, so you are playing the same moment 4-5 times before it moves on!


Many players have been suggesting a weekly PS4 server reboot during low volume time, such as early monday morning.


Please fix this!
