The moderator team of the community Discord would like to address the point that Imrahil mentioned in regards to the server.

First off we have not and will not ban people outright without warning unless for the most extreme cases. That said, when people are attacked personally we draw a stricter line. We will not have personal insults on the server.

To that effect, to my knowledge the server moderation team has, in it’s history, permabanned a total of two people. Both permabans were for extreme toxicity and personal attacks.

I would also like to elaborate on what constitutes as unconstructive criticism. We are not, in fact, making a case against providing feedback on aspects of the game that needs work. Feedback is entirely welcome and essential to working for a better game. After all, we want the game to succeed, and are the consumers that the Dreadnought Team wants to sell to.

What we will do is ask people to refrain from calling the game names such as “shityard”, “a pile of cr4p”, “developed to fail” and giving similarly unconstructive and unhelpful feedback. This only drains devs from the server and saps our potential as a community to shape things to come positively.

Regards,

The Community Discord Moderator Team

As a rather long member of the community which had a vested interest in the prospering of this game I support the changes put forth by Corran.

Change is necessary and desired. On a personal note I'd like to emphasize one of the aforementioned points explicitly, namely the one on ship diversity in the beginning. If the experience is truly about building a fleet rather than multiple variants of one ship, give us the variety we need for this.

Let's go with the premise that the tiered system and mixed level brackets are here to stay, I'd like to know your thoughts on the feasibility of player scaling where intended level brackets are violated.

As by DN_Timo's Post, being put into matches with tiers outside you usual bracket (Tier I vs IV for example) is going to be less likely but not impossible due to various gameplay and I suppose practicability reasons.

Would it be a viable option to scale the basic stats (think damage on guns, clip size and so on / maybe modules as well) for weaker ships to be comparable to at least the lower end bracket ships that the highest tier ship is supposed to face. As every tier (I think?) should contain the model of ship you are flying in anyhow, reference numbers should not be too hard to get.

This still would leave the lower tier ships without the more fancy-full modules (and secondaries for that matter) but they would be provided with greater chance or at least not at a disadvantage for getting the short end of the stick (at random).

Having a transparent matchmaker would help with overall player satisfaction.

The way it is now, there is just too much margin to mistakenly identify unbalanced teams (Where they might not be) to everybody's detriment (Players leaving, getting frustrated and not really trying or reinforcing their initial impression). Unjust frustration might already build up from the loading screen, unless you have a way to reliably compare balance between matches.

After all judgment of fairness is mostly based on one’s subjective impression where it should probably revolve around reliably comparable information.

Quick sidenote: If you happen to have team logo that you would like to be displayed on the stream send them to Corran Horn.

The container size in which we will display the logo will be: 150x150px

Please note that we will not do any elegant resizing of logos smile
