Grey Box spent nearly a year looking for the right group of individuals to develop their original IP, Grey Goo. The goal was clear – to return to the roots of the genre by creating a "true" RTS, yet introduce some unique game elements never quite seen before in any other game. The task was a daunting one, but the right team was out there, it was just a matter of finding them.

The search ended with the Las Vegas studio, Petroglyph, whose founding members were behind such classics as The Command and Conquer franchise and Dune II. With a past resume of hits under their belts, not to mention Petroglyph's own success with Star Wars: Empire at War™ and others, Grey Box knew they had found their developer and a beautiful business relationship was born.

Now, many months later, both companies are more excited than ever to be working on this amazing new RTS. Here are just a couple things Petroglyph has to say about their experience creating Grey Goo:

"It is exciting to see the game Grey Goo showcase a unique combination of the traditional RTS formula with a few new twists. It all started when we were approached with an unusual opportunity – build an RTS with a combination of modernized design and classic sensibilities, but with a faction unlike anything seen before. It is great to finally let the public see Grey Goo!"

-Joe Bostic, Creative Director and Co-Founder, Petroglyph

"I love working in the sci-fi genre because the creativity is limitless, and that is certainly the case with this project. Helping establish personality with audio and music to the unique factions of this game has been a real treat, and I'm thrilled to work with a publisher that is as collaborative and passionate about the creative vision."

-Frank Klepacki, Audio Director, Petroglyph

As Grey Goo gets closer to release, you can expect to hear a lot more from Petroglyph in the form of articles, interviews, and developer diaries, so stay tuned in the coming months!
